Julie's Letter

My husband and I met Tracy first through an educational consultant. Our daughter had been struggling with depression, anxiety, drug use, lack of boundaries, running away, hyper-sexual behavior, self harm, suicide attempts, eating disorders, extremely disrespectful behavior, and an inability to regulate her emotions and reactions.

Our family was in a state of constant crisis and we were desperate. After police intervention, in-and-out-patient treatment, and a psychiatric hospital, we were at our wit’s end. When speaking to the education consultant about ‘what to do’ she told us bluntly, “you need Tracy”. Not having any idea who or what ‘Tracy’ was, I put my faith in her.

My daughter was involuntarily transported to a wilderness therapy program in Utah in November 2015. Tracy was her therapist for the three months she spent in the program. I can say with absolute certainty and conviction that Tracy and her uncanny ability to understand and relate to our daughter and her issues jump-started the process of turning her life around.

Tracy has both the skills and experience to identify what it is that is causing the individual to act out in harmful and hurtful ways. She is uncanny in her ability to see through peoples’ bullshit and get to the essence of what is blocking their ability to move forward in healthy, positive ways. She can be intimidating because she is very present, aware and direct about what she identifies as potential dysfunctional dynamics that are at play between family members and their children. She also is not afraid to address issues that many other people are reluctant to address. She is exceedingly calm, observant and professional in all of her interactions.

I cannot say enough positive things about Tracy. She is truly one of the most gifted therapists I have ever encountered. We have worked with well over a dozen therapists for our daughter in the past several years. It wasn’t until our daughter worked with Tracy that she started to acknowledge her harmful behavior, take accountability for her actions and take the first steps out of the hell she had been living in toward a better and healthier life. Tracy played a vital role in our daughter’s life and in our family. She helped save our daughter’s life, healed a family in crisis and restored faith and hope in my daughter.

There will never be words adequate enough to convey the enormity of admiration, gratitude, respect and appreciation we have for Tracy. I feel humbled by her talents and the deepest gratitude for the good fortune, or divine intervention that allowed her to enter our lives. Tracy’s patience, realism, directness, concern and belief in both our daughter and our family were life altering. Her skills, experience and her very essence gave our daughter and our family a second chance and allowed us to begin again. We are eternally grateful.

- Julie
